Students should be in full uniform everyday. A student not in full uniform and well groomed may not attend class. All clothes should fit. Tight or excessively loose clothing is not permitted. Students represent St. Mary’s School and must wear the official school uniform unless specifically excused by the Principal.

Boys

  • Short sleeve, button up white Oxford shirt with a collar (no polo shirts)
  • Khaki pants or light tan trousers (no dungarees or jeans). Pants must be hemmed so they do not drag the ground or gather around the ankles.
  • Black or brown belts
  • School tie
  • Brown (not tan) or black oxford shoes (no sneakers or boots)
  • Plain black or white socks
  • St. Mary’s emblem

Students are permitted to wear a watch, one ring, and one bracelet.

The following things are not permitted: hats, visible tatoos, logos, "sag" pants, untucked shirts, earrings or chains, colored under shirts/tee shirts.

Boys are expected to keep themselves and their clothes clean. Hairstyles should be off the collar and of moderate length and thickness in front, back, top, and sides. Hair styles may NOT include: bowl cuts, under cuts, punk hair cuts, tails, Mohawks, dreadlocks, dyed, tinted, highlighted, or bleached hair, or vertical/horizontal/wavy lines on the head. Boys should be clean-shaven every day.

Girls

  • Navy blue jumper (Kindergarten – 4th grades).
  • Navy blue pleated skirt (must come to the knees – one inch pleat in the front and one inch pleat all around, pleats must start at the waist band).
  • White short-sleeve button-up blouse with collar (no polos, no sheer, net or see-through type).
  • White socks (no lace ruffle socks).
  • Brown or black shoes (no open toe or back, no sneakers, and no heels).
  • School tie (purchase at St. Mary’s).
  • St. Mary’s emblem.

Girls are expected to keep their hair combed or braided (no beads, only white or navy blue colored ribbons). The following hairstyles are not permitted: dyed, highlighted, tinted, bleached, dreadlocks, vertical/horizontal/wavy lines, or wraps.

Girls are allowed only one ring, one bracelet, and one set of earrings (ears only - dangling earrings are not permitted), and no chains.

Girls may not wear colored under/tee-shirts, make-up, nail polish, or acrylic nails.

Emblems

School emblems are required on all uniforms and are to be purchased at St. Mary’s. The emblem must be placed on the strap of the jumper or pocket of the shirt (not on the sleeve). Emblems go on the left side. No other emblems may be worn.

Pre-K Boys and Girls

  • St. Mary’s gym shorts.
  • St. Mary’s T-shirt.
  • Sneakers
  • Same jewelry guidelines as the older students

Physical Education/Gym

All students must be in proper gym uniform (i.e. – St. Mary’s shorts, St. Mary’s T-shirt, and sneakers) in order to participate in physical education. Students who are not in full uniform will not be permitted to participate in gym class.

Mod Day

These are non-uniform days that are permitted through out the year at the discretion of the principal. A detailed description of the dress code for mod day can be found in the school’s handbook.
